Gondry to helm "The Green Hornet"

Good News: Looks like the new adaptation of "The Green Hornet" is back on track again with "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" director Michel Gondry at the helm. You may have heard that original director Stephen Chow dropped out over creative differences. He is, however, still expected to co-star as Kato.

Bad News: Seth Rogen is still starring. Love the guy but this was not a good idea. Who's producing this thing? Oh yeah, Seth Rogen.

Admittedly, I'm a pretty big Gondry fan from his music video days. His film career, on the other hand, has been a bit spotty. Loved "Eternal Sunshine" and "The Science of Sleep" (though it's definitely not for everybody). Liked "Block Party" if only for the fantastic music and reminding me how much I miss Dave Chapelle. Really, really wanted to love "Be Kind Rewind" but only kind of half-liked it. I never saw "Human Nature" because I prefer hottie "True Romance" Patricia Arquette to hairy Patricia Arquette. Nonetheless, the man sure is ambitous.

Plus, you've got to admit that this is pure awesomeness:

"The Green Hornet" is due Summer 2010 from Columbia Pictures.
