QUICK BITS

  • Sony has recently announced that to better utilize the disc space of their PS3 discs, the company will now be releasing Blu-ray movies with the accompanying movie tie-in game on the same disc. So, now when you buy your Watchmen movie on Blu-ray you'll get the Watchmen game along with it. What kind of delays this may cause and what the price tag will be is still a little vague at this time.
  • Sometime in the near future, you can expect theatrical versions of some of your favorite childhood toys a la Clue including Battleship, Monopoly (Ridley Scott), Ouija (Michael Bay), Candy Land (Ethan Cohen) and...Stretch Armstrong?
  • ABC has officially began production on The Witches of Eastwick, a new series based loosely off of the 1987 Jack Nicholson film of the same name.
  • In other remake news, it looks like Leo DiCaprio will be leading up the cast in an updated version of the 1983 classic War Games starring Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.
  • The Dark Knight has finally broken the $1 billion mark worldwide, making only the fourth film to do so behindTitanic, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dean Man's Chest.
  • Also in DC movie news, it has recently been announced that Warner Bros. will not reboot the Superman franchise as once speculated (and hoped), but instead will put the final nail in the Superman movie coffin with Superman: Unleashed (originally titled Superman: Man of Steel to mirror The Dark Knight), which will continue as the next sequel after Superman Ruined, I mean Superman Returns.
